Every Australian city has its fair share of standout pizza joints, but only one is home to the country’s best pizza. If you had an inkling you were chowing down on some world-class pizza, Melburnians, you might have been onto something — with the Head Chef and Co-founder of South Yarra’s 48h Pizza e Gnocchi Bar taking out top honours at the recent Campionato Mondiale Della Pizza (World Pizza Championships), claiming the Title of Best Pizza In Australia.
Having named their pizza & gnocchi bar 48h, after the minimum time required for natural pizza dough to rise, it’s clear that Michele Circhirillo and co-owner Fabio Biscaldi are pretty serious about their dough.
For their launch, 48h needed a new menu and marketing materials using their existing brand, as well as a no fuss web presence and some kick ass social media to help them spread the word that the new kids on the block were worth the visit and here to stay.
They loved working with us so much that after a few years, in 2019 they asked us to give them a whole new fresh brand identity. They needed us to create a new brand identity and an online presence that would make them stand out from the rest while communicating their authentic Italian vibe and delicious dishes using only the best quality Italian and local products.
Purpl. gave 48h a true point of difference through the use of strong brand identity and illustrations that amplified their digital channels, spearheaded by the brand’s social media.
Already holding an exceptional reputation in Melbourne’s hospitality scene, we repositioned their brand to stand out from the rest and cut through the token pizza shop branding… which their target demographic was highly responsive to. The outcome was the successful creation of a fun and bespoke brand which was visually strong both in-store and across social media and outdoor media.
